Mark and Stephen set off from Peterborough on the 12th May for Malling. Some 15 hours later they arrived at the foot of the Caingorms ready for their challenge.
“In the summer of 2006 out of the blue I started to feel unwell and noticed a small lump on my right thigh the size of a thumb. I went to my Doctor and he sent me for tests that confirmed that I had a very rare malignant soft tissue tumour called a Sarcoma.
With the audience in their seats, the lights went low and up came the music to the 90’s hit show ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ and our host, SCAT’s Chair, Steve Cannon MBE. Over the following two hours they enjoyed hit after hit and witnessed great acts.
Gaby was never a fan of running, but took it up to regain strength in her leg after the operation. In one of her follow up consultations her mum joked that she would be running the marathon next and Mr Pollock replied to say if she did, she should do so for SCAT.
