Prof Tim Briggs attends fundraiser at the London Sporting Club

SCAT Trustee Prof Tim Briggs CBE was invited to attend an event at The London Sporting Club, hosted by Ian Stafford. The special guest for October was the super talented Thomas Bjorn.

He proved to be a sensational hit when he re-lived the story of how he led Europe to Ryder Cup victory in Paris. The popular Dane captained the European team to a stunning win over the USA and was in understandably fine form at the Mayfair Club as he took the guests through the three days that led to sporting history. The Ryder Cup trophy was also in the house for the day. Swimming star Mark Foster was also in the audience, whilst Professor Tim Briggs CBE spoke passionately about SCAT which led to £1200 being raised during a game of heads and tails and an extra donation from the London Sporting Club.

I would like to thank Tina Thomas, Ian Stafford, Thomas Bjorn and everyone who attended the event and donated money to our great charity.

Tina Thomas became involved with SCAT over 20 years ago, her son was Prof Brigg’s patient. This year Tina’s son would have been 30 and we have some great plans to fundraise in Adam Thomas’ memory.

It was great to raise the profile for SCAT. We will continue to keep fundraising in memory of our precious Adam and our thoughts are always with those who are going through what we did and of course the wonderful team at RNOH.
